We all need water, especially our kids. So lets make it more interesting

Making flavoured waters can make all the difference to your Childs overall health.

Did you know:

  • The lose of just 5% of water causes  a number of problems. Headaches, fatigue, confusion, forgetfulness & elevated heart rate.
  • We need water to regulate our body temperatures
  • Water dilutes toxins and flushes them out of our bodies.
  • Water lubricates joints, improves skin and complexion , cushion’s body’s organs, and repairs tissue.
  • Carries nutrients to your cells

How can you get your kids to drink more water

Water is a vital part of life so wouldn’t it be nice if our kids wanted it instead of having to insist they drink it. I’ve found by introducing kids to making flavoured waters they are more likely to enjoy them.

When we have a number of fruits in the house along with some leftover herbs I encourage the children to make up their very own combination mocktail. Not only do they enjoy putting the fruits together and get excited about drinking water I have found it to encourage eating fruits and vegetables.

Thats not the only benefit, the little ones are then developing a better understanding of fresh produce which in my experience makes it much easier for your children to entertain the idea of eating their vegetables.

There are endless amounts of combinations you can come up with but these are some of my favorites

  • Berry, you can even use the frozen ones and it adds extra colour
  • Strawberry & Mint
  • Passion fruit and lime (don’t squeeze the limes as the acid is not good for the enamel on teeth)
  • Peach and sage (place the sage in your hand and clap once or twice to release its aroma)
